Oscar Lopez II is a founding partner of Forrester Lopez APC. He is a first-generation Mexican American, and as the son of immigrant parents, he understands the value of hard work and perseverance. He understands that there are members of his community that are routinely ignored and many individuals in need of competent and compassionate legal representation.
Oscar’s experience is focused on civil litigation involving personal injuries, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, dog bites, and landlord tenant disputes. He has successfully represented a wide range of clients across industries including municipal entities, commercial trucking, municipal transportation entities, technology companies, rideshare companies, homeowners, individuals, and landlords.
Oscar attended the California State University of Long Beach and earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Oscar has always valued protecting those in need and giving back to his community. After graduating from Cal State Long Beach, he worked in law enforcement as a police officer in Los Angeles County. Knowing that he could have a bigger direct impact on people’s lives as an attorney, he attended Pepperdine School of Law. While in law school, he excelled academically and graduated with a 3.98 GPA in the top 6% of his class. Oscar was also a member of the prestigious Pepperdine Law Review and externed for the Honorable Beverly Reid O’Connell at the District Court for the Central District of California. Oscar also participated in Pepperdine’s Global Justice Program and personally visited prisons in Uganda to advocate for the release of qualified individuals pursuant to Uganda’s new plea-bargaining guidelines.
During and after law school, Oscar worked to defend some of the world’s largest insurance companies and technology companies. While working on the defense, Oscar learned the insurance defense playbook and strategies employed to undercut the amount paid on claims. Using his unique experience and background, Oscar knows exactly how to protect his client’s rights and ensure that they receive the just compensation that they deserve.
